Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, expected to launch in the second half of 2025, is generating significant buzz as analysts predict it will be the most substantial update to the iPhone series in years, featuring a complete redesign and a new “Slim” model.
According to a recent research note from analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research, the iPhone 17 series will move away from the current design language. The standard iPhone 17 and 17 Plus are tipped to receive a more advanced 120Hz ProMotion display, a feature currently exclusive to the Pro models, alongside a new “decentralized” pill-shaped camera island.
The most notable addition is a new high-tier “iPhone 17 Slim” model, which would replace the Plus variant. This model is expected to boast an even more premium price tag, a slimmer aluminum chassis, a significantly smaller Dynamic Island, and a upgraded 24MP front-facing camera. The report suggests these changes are aimed at making the 2025 iPhone lineup a “must-buy” for consumers seeking a major upgrade.
The analyst also anticipates the entire series will be powered by next-generation chips built on an improved manufacturing process for greater performance and efficiency. These predicted changes position the iPhone 17 as a pivotal release for Apple, potentially offering the most significant design overhaul since the introduction of the flat-edge design with the iPhone 12.
