Speakers at a discussion meeting have stressed the urgent need for climate-resilient health protection for women and adolescents living in Bangladesh’s coastal belt, particularly in Satkhira, one of the regions most affected by climate change.
Shah Israt Azmery, chairman of the Children Watch Foundation, stated that coastal women and adolescents are the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. She emphasized that building a stronger, healthier society requires ensuring climate-resilient health protection and environmental conservation. The chairman also encouraged youth and women to take a leading role in raising awareness for a safe and sustainable future.
The event was organized by the Children Watch Foundation in Satkhira’s Padmapukur Union. The program highlighted the disproportionate risks faced by coastal communities and called for greater community engagement to ensure a resilient health system.
