Gill reaches Kohli’s mark with century in Delhi

Indian captain Shubman Gill scored another century, playing an unbeaten innings of 129 runs against the West Indies in Delhi. This century is his 10th in his Test career and his fifth century in the last seven Tests. With this feat, Gill became the second Indian after Virat Kohli to score five Test centuries in a year as captain. Notably, Gill is ahead of Kohli in efficiency, achieving his 5 centuries in just 12 innings, whereas Kohli reached the milestone in 16 innings in 2017 and 24 innings in 2018. Following Gill’s innings and a century from Yashasvi Jaiswal (175 runs), India declared their first innings at 518 for 5.
