DHAKA – The National University of Bangladesh has opened applications for full-time researchers for its MPhil and PhD programs for the 2025-26 academic year. Interested candidates can apply online until midnight on September 30. The application fee is Tk 1,500 for the MPhil program and Tk 2,000 for the PhD program.

The programs will focus on research related to Bangladeshi society, culture, the Liberation War, economic development, and education. The MPhil program has a duration of two years, including a one-year coursework, while the PhD program is three years. Each program will offer fellowships to five researchers per subject, with MPhil researchers receiving Tk 15,000 and PhD researchers receiving Tk 20,000 per month. Admission is available in 30 subjects across five faculties: Arts, Social Science, Natural Science, Life and Earth Science, and Business Studies.

The application, examination, and admission schedule are as follows:

• Written Exam: October 15, 2025
• Oral Exam: October 27 to 30, 2025
• Final Merit List Publication: November 9, 2025
• Research Activities Begin: November 25, 2025
