The Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has taken control of a locker belonging to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina. The locker is located at the Motijheel branch of Pubali Bank and is registered under her name as locker number 128.

According to a senior official, the CIC could not open the locker because one of the two keys is in Hasina’s possession. The official stated that since Hasina is now a fugitive, they will proceed in line with the law to open the locker.

This action is part of an ongoing NBR investigation into allegations of tax evasion by the former prime minister. As part of the inquiry, the tax authority has also frozen her bank accounts.
