DHAKA – The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education has published the guidelines for the Class 8 scholarship examination. According to the new policy, a maximum of 25% of students from each secondary or lower-secondary school can participate in the exam.

The examination will be for a total of 400 marks, with subjects including Bengali, English, Mathematics, Science, and Bangladesh and Global Studies. Scholarships will be awarded in two categories: talent pool and general. Each subject will have a three-hour time limit, with an additional 30 minutes provided for students with special needs.

The examination fee has been set at Tk 400 per student for the board and Tk 200 for the examination center. Fifty percent of all scholarships will be reserved for male students and fifty percent for female students. This quota can be changed if there are not enough qualified candidates.

The guidelines also state that a headmaster who allows a student from another school to participate in the exam, if proven, will face departmental action and the student’s result will be canceled.
