Voting for the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (Jucsu) election has concluded, with vote counting scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. The polls were held amid allegations of irregularities, mismanagement, and vote rigging.
A total of 178 candidates competed for 25 posts. Eight different panels participated in the election, including those supported by leftist groups, Islami Chhatra Shibir, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, and independents. However, the Chhatra Dal-backed panel withdrew from the election halfway through the day, citing widespread vote rigging as the reason.
According to the provided data, a total of 14,249 students were eligible to vote.
